Great Job Wildcats!!

Wildcats you did an amazing job last night singing in the Holiday Musical!!! Great job to all the students who had speaking parts and singing solos.  We are so proud of how hard you worked.

Holiday Musical

TONIGHT is the Holiday Musical!!  Come eat dinner between 4:30 and 5:45.  Students should be in their classrooms by 5:30 tonight.  We will have a class auction before the musical begins. 

Don't forget we will be in school Monday, December 20th.  Our Christmas party will begin at 1:30 that day.

Science Fair
Thank you to all the students who worked so hard on their science fair projects. I was overall pleased with all the experiments. Congrats to Kendall Tubbs, Anna Greisz, Maddie Baker, and Joshua Roy for placing in the science fair! Great job everyone.
         
Christmas Musical
The students will be wearing Christmas attire... red, green, holiday shirts, sweaters, etc for the performance Thursday night. We will also be rehearsing on Thursday morning and the students will need to be wearing this attire that day as well. Thank you so much.

Holiday Party
Our holiday party will be Friday, December 17th at 1:30p.m.
       We will be exchanging gifts at the party. Boys need to bring a boys gift and girls need to bring a girls gift. The gift should cost no more than $5.00.


Subject Areas

Science: Please remember to study for your   vocabulary quiz every Friday!

Math: We will not have a vocabulary test or an open response next week.  We will use our class time to discuss the results of the common assessment that was taken on Friday.  We will use next week to review skills and correct any misconceptions that students may have had about concepts studied so far.  Please continue to practice multiplication facts.  We will still be timing students to improve speed and accuracy.  Thanks for ALL you do to help your child succeed! 

Reading: Students have one more week to meet their AR goals.  Congratulations to those students who have already met their goal!

Update!

Hat Day
Monday, November 22, 2010 will be hat day at Farmington Elementary.  If you bring in a dollar, you will be able to wear a hat all day at school.  The donations will go towards the CFK (Christmas for Kids Program).  It would really bring a smile to many children’s faces if they receive a gift for Christmas this year! Thank you!

Reading Fun Day
            Tuesday, November 23, 2010 we will be have a Reading day! Students will be reading chapter books all day long.  Students may dress in PAJAMAS and bring blankets! 

Field Trip
The fourth Grade with be going to Murray State University on Friday, December 3rd to watch a Christmas play.  After the play we will be eating lunch at Nick’s restaurant in Murray.  The cost of this trip will be $5.00.

Subject AreasWriting: Students will be working hard on organizing paragraphs.      
Science: Please remember to study for your   vocabulary quiz every Friday!
Math: Multiplication is beginning to improve.  Please continue to study facts nightly.  Don't forget about studying vocabulary words, too.  We will not have a test on facts or vocabulary next week due to Thanksgiving Break.  We will continue the week we come back.  Our next vocabulary test will be Wednesday, Dec. 1st,  and our next multiplication fact test will be Thursday, Dec. 2nd. 
Reading: We have completed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  Extra Credit projects are due next Tuesday.   Students have more four more weeks to meet their AR goals.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
All students will begin reading the chapter book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” on Monday.  Students will be given the opportunity to complete an extra credit project.  Details will come home early next week.  It will be due on Friday, November 29th. 


Subject AreasWriting: We have been studying dialogue, and will be starting a writing contest for free braces from Dr. Mill’s office next week.    
Science: Please remember to study for your   vocabulary quiz every Friday!
Math: Students need to keep practicing multiplication facts, vocabulary words for quizzes on Wednesday, and remember to get math homework checked at home!
Reading: We will be reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory next week.  This is a really fun book.  It is worth 4 AR points.

CARDIAC Project

Parents, Just a reminder that we are having the Cardiac Project Wednesday, Novemeber 3rd and you child should not eat breakfast in the morning.  The Family Resource Center will provide a snack to him or her immediately after the finger stick for glucose and cholesterol.  They will be allowed to eat breakfast at school as well.

Pizza Delivery

A great website that is fun for the students to practice and review facts is: www.multiplication.com.  Students can make and print flashcards, take practice quizzes, and play LOTS of fun, multiplication games.
Reading: Please encourage your child to read every night to help them meet their AR goal.
